Sensex crashes 1,837 points as West Asia fears hammer Indian markets

Indian equity markets suffered a brutal selloff on Monday. The Sensex fell 2.46% to close at 72,696 — its lowest since May 2024. The Nifty 50 dropped 602 points to 22,512. All 16 major sectors on the NSE declined. Midcap and smallcap indices fell nearly 4% each. Foreign investors have pulled out over ₹90,000 crore from Indian equities in March alone.
