Finance Bill 2026 tabled in Lok Sabha, tax changes move forward

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Finance Bill 2026 in the Lok Sabha, the legislative step needed to enforce income tax rate changes, customs duties, and excise duties announced in the Union Budget for 2026-27. The bill will now be debated and must be passed before April 2 when the Budget session ends.
